 Hola mohalla – Punjab When we come to northern part of India then in Punjab it is known as hola mohalla instead of holi, and it is celebrated the day after holi, in order to give tribute to Sikh warriors. The specialty of holi in Punjab is the martial art display and later followed by music and traditional dance that is bhangra.

Mahila holi/khadi holi/ baithaki holi- uttarakhand- In some northern parts of India holi is known a khadi holi, mahila holi and baithaki holi. in this women dress up in traditional attire and move around the city and sing folk songs. Besides this they also play with local peoples and put gulal on there face. Here also holi is accompanied by colors, music and dance 

Lathmar holi- Uttar Pradesh th most popular holi in India Moving to Uttar Pradesh we find that here special kind of holi is celebrated that is known as lathmar holi. here women are provided with lathis and are allowed to hit the men and boys with that in order to celebrate the festival. And if in this a men is found on road then he is made to dress up in women attire and then he have to dance and sing like a women This is associated with lord Krishna as Krishna came to barsana to tease radha and women there chased him with lath


Phaguwa in bihar 
As like different parts of India in bihar holi is known as phagua and is celebrated with most enthusiasm. Here also people sing and dance on their folk songs and make special dishes like gujia and pua. And thy too have holika ehen and then play holi for all day long with colors and waters.

Similarly , in different parts of India holi is known with different names and is celebrated in different manners but the common thing in between all the holis is  color, music and dance accompanied by holika dehen. All these symbolize only thing that is victory of good over bad and new and good beginning.
